There's something about listening to country radio nowadays that really bothers me. No, it's not the fact that there seems to be more pop-sounding songs, but the fact that so many times I'll hear a song that I've never heard before and wonder who was singing it, and what was it called. I'll listen all the way through, hoping that maybe the DJ will give the artist and song name afterwards, only to be disappointed with a commercial, or another song.
If it weren't for the Internet, and my exposure to song charts and names, I might never have a clue who some of these new acts are. For that matter, there are many times that there has been a new song by an established artist that I haven't heard the DJ mention anything before or afterwards.
Does this bother you as much as it does me? Edison Media Research did a survey and found out that 66% of listeners would like to hear the song title and artist announced for every song. And 33% would be happy with just the new songs announced.
Personally, I don't think I'd want to hear the title and artist of every song. That would cut down on the amount of music played. But, I would like to hear the title and artist of new songs. That's just me, though. What do you think?
