Gary Allan played at Feather Falls Casino on June 25, 2001.

This was my first time seeing him, and I was looking forward to what I had heard to be an energetic show. This show was all General Admission seating, so I arrived early to line up for a good seat.

I had seen three other shows prior to Gary Allan. Sara Evans & Eric Heatherly, and Collin Raye were reserved seating, and Rascal Flatts were General Admission. I arrived at 6:30 pm to line up for Rascal Flatts and got fairly close to the front. For Gary, I arrived at 6:15 pm and I was around the corner and into the other room. There was more than twice the amount of people ahead of me for this show.

I found out a few hours before the show that they had added a second show at 10:00 pm, so it's clear that Gary is really popular around here.

Gary Allan I was really pleased to get a front row seat, and looking forward to getting some great pictures. Unfortunately, seeing this was a General Admission show, they allowed people to stand up by the stage and it was pretty difficult to get pictures of anything. I was disappointed by that. I don't care if they let people stand in the front towards the end of the show for 4-5 songs, but people were standing from the first note. It wasn't quite so bad where I was, but if I was in the front and center, I would have had to stand up to see anything at all. Maybe I'm just an old fuddy duddy?

Gary Allan Gary's show was also the first one I've seen where the artist drank beer on stage. I had seen artists drink bottled water in between songs before, but never beer. He also took shots from the audience. After the first one, a couple other people tried to hand him up some more, but he said he had to limit the shots if he wanted to be any good for the second show. He did take a second one later on. Again, I don't know if it's just me, but I think an artist is there to perform, not to drink liquor. His performance was great, however, so I guess he knows his limits.

Before the show, the DJ mentioned about women throwing their underwear up on stage, and I hadn't heard about that happening before. Sure enough, there was a lady that threw her bra up and another threw up her panties.

Gary AllanGary has a great voice, and he doesn't stand still and sing, he moves around. But, he doesn't swing on ropes or jump off the stage or anything, so he's more in the middle as far as action goes. After each song, Gary would remove his hat and thank people for their applause. I thought that was pretty cool.

If you enjoy Gary's music, I'm sure you'll enjoy his show. I only have one of his albums, but I enjoyed all the songs he performed. I think if I see him again, however, it would have to be at a show with reserved seats, so I could see him without people standing by the stage.

Below is the actual song list.
