If you're a longtime visitor to this site, you'll know this is far from my first review of a Steve Wariner CD. In the past I've reviewed Two Teardrops as well as Burnin' The Roadhouse Down.
Below you can see my feelings on each of the cuts on this cd.
High Time - I can see this song being released as a single. It's a nice mid-tempo song that's fun to listen to and sing along with.
Faith In You - The title cut was also the first single off the album. A wonderful ballad. I was suprised that this song didn't get any higher than #28 on the Billboard singles charts.
I Just Do - This song is so neat. It has a western swing sound to it, and sounds like something you might have heard Bob Wills sing long ago, but it's a brand new song, penned by Steve himself. He has the Nashville Super Players playing on it with him; Eddie Bayers, Glenn Worf, Paul Franklin, Matt Rollings, Brent Mason, Biff Watson and Aubrey Haynie.
Katie Wants a Fast One - Steve called up Garth Brooks to see if he'd sing on this track, and he agreed. The song is a perfect summer tune that has an island sound to it.
Turn In The Road - This song reminds me of "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" in style. Another great ballad, and sure to be a single.
Make It Look Easy - This is another fun song with lots of references to famous people. See how many you can pick out.
It Wouldn't Be Love - This ballad is another of my choices for a single. "It wouldn't be love, baby, if we didn't need it so much, or if it were that easy to give up."
Waiting In The Wings - This ballad is about dreaming and waiting for the right time to make them come true.
Been There - This is Steve's duet with Clint Black. Great song. It's also on Clint's De'Lectrified.
Longer Letter Later - This one has an acoustic feel to it. Steve wrote this with Rodney Crowell. It is about a man writing a short letter to his ex-girlfriend, and who promises to write something longer later.
Blinded - This is a nice mid-tempo piece. There are some notes in this song that seem a bit high for Steve to reach, though.
I Wish I Were A Train - This is a melancholy piece about looking back with regrets, and wishing he were a train that could "stop on a dime, move ahead or go back" because it hurts too much to go back in his life.
Bloodlines - This is an instrumental duet of Steve and his son, Ryan. Really interesting ending to the album. It's much more of a rock instrumental, than anything country. Still I like it.

I'd rate this CD 4 3/4 out of 5. Steve has another winner on his hands, with plenty of material for singles.
