Rascal Flatts - Rascal Flatts

Rascal Flatts Cover

From the first time I heard "Praying For Daylight," I knew that I wanted to get the Rascal Flatts album. The harmonies were so rich and full, and very reminiscent of Diamond Rio.

Below you can see my feelings on each of the cuts on this cd.

Praying For Daylight - The incredible harmonies of Gary, Jay, and Joe Don just jump out at you from the very first acapella note. The song is fun and a perfect first single for the guys.

This Everyday Love If I had to pick a follow-up song to Praying For Daylight, it would have to be this one. It's another upbeat and catchy song.

While You Loved Me - This is a gorgeous ballad. If you love songs like Amazed and Smile by Lonestar, you'll probably love this one too.

Some Say - When you hear about songs that have a hook to them, you can bet this one would be a great example. When you hit the chorus, you'll be singing along.

See Me Through - This one was co-written by bandmember Gary LeVox along with Bruce Miller and Eddie Schwartz. Great power ballad. I'd have to say this is more like Gary on lead with Jay and Joe Don singing backup, more than a group-type song.

One Good Love - One look at the songwriters, (Marcus Hummon and Annie Roboff), without even listening to the song, you know this one is going to be special. And when you hear it, you'll agree. The album was actually going to be named One Good Love, before it was self-titled. This is also the most country-sounding song on the album.

It's Not Just Me - Bandmember Jay DeMarcus co-wrote this with Marcus Hummon, and it's another really pretty ballad. The harmonies stand out on this one too. I'd definitely pick this one as a ballad release.

Waiting All My Life - Really like this one too. Nice mid-tempo song with lots of great harmony, and a strong bass beat.

From Time To Time - Here's still another mid-tempo song that you'll find yourself singing along with.

Long Slow Beautiful Dance - This song is really different. It has some Celtic feel to it, and each of the guys takes a turn with a line, so it's got a different sound than the rest of the songs on the album.

I'm Movin' On - Definite power ballad. This one will pull on your heartstrings. Another one with the excellent harmonies.

Rascal Flatts Audio Clips

I'd rate this CD 4 3/4 our of 5. I love all the songs. They are leaning more towards a pop feel on most of them, but that will most likely get them more radio play.
