Clay had made a visit to Feather Falls Casino about six months or so ago, and he brought up his rememberance of how wild and fun we were. He said that during that last time he was here he sang a song that they just finished writing in the parking lot outside. It was one that they included on the new album. He then told his sound guy to make sure he had the tape running cuz he wanted to tape it, and he sang the beautiful ballad "So Much More."
Clay took a short break and his band broke into the instrumental "Orange Blossom Special."
When Clay came back onstage, he then sang "Rumor Has It." At the end of the song, he yelled out "Can anybody say, 'Yo Man!?'" And the crowd cheered, knowing that the island-influenced "Live, Laugh, Love" was next.
During this song, confetti fell from the rafters, covering everyone in colorful crepe paper streams and confetti. And, this wasn't the only time the crowd would be showered. It really made the song even more fun to have all this confetti flowing all over the place.
I'll list below the actual song list:
As I mentioned above, there were other times that the crowd was showered with confetti and other things. During "The Chain Of Love," snow fell from the ceiling during the part where he talks about the lady stuck in the snow in her Mercedes.
After Clay sang "If I Could Make A Living" he mentioned that he hoped he sounded ok, because his sound wasn't working for him at all. Several times he kept removing and putting his earpieces in, so it was obvious he wasn't hearing correctly. After this he said, "When there's sound problems, there's nothing to do but have fun." So, people went up to the stage and stood up. (Deja vu of Gary Allan!) I knew once people crowded the stage that security would not be able to get them back to their seats. And, they were way outnumbered, and didn't even try.
During "Then What," four really large beach balls were tossed out into the crowd, and everyone was having fun batting them around. Several times they went up and hit Clay and he hit them back out to the crowd. He even had to stop singing a couple times.
During "What's It To You" confetti again rained down, but this time instead of streamers, it was gold and silver squares that caught the light and made it look magical.
Clay is a wonderful performer. I love the way he dances around the stage, and tips his hat. Everything he sang sounded wonderful... sound problems or not. Do yourself a favor and check out his show. You won't be sorry. He played for an hour and a half and other than some of the songs in the encore and a few during the main part of the show, every song was a hit, and had everyone singing along.
