The weekend of September 28th - 30th was one filled with great country music and a touch of humor. In the weekend I attended a show with Cledus T. Judd opening for Toby Keith at the Sunset Station Amphitheatre, and keith urban opening for Trisha Yearwood at the Las Vegas Hilton.
I was especially excited to be able to finally see Toby Keith. He had passed through my area on the Neon Circus Tour (along with keith urban), but I was unable to attend the show. I'm not much for outdoor shows, but I made an exception in this case, and happily so, even though the seating was the worst I've ever had to put up with. The George Strait Country Fest seating running a close second in lack of comfort. They had the chairs tied together and gave absolutely NO room for your legs, unless you are 5' tall or less. And there was really no need for it as it was an outdoor theatre on grass. It wouldn't have hurt to arrange the chairs with an inch or two more leg room. Needless to say, I will never attend another show in this uncomfortable amphitheatre.
I saw Toby and Cledus the first night, and Trisha and keith the second. I had seen several shows previously at the Hilton and it's a GREAT venue. Every seat affords a great view of the stage, and it's small and intimate, and you feel like you're part of the show. I had great seats for this show, being in the seventh row, center. Plus, the people that would be sitting in the row in front of me never showed up, so I had a clear shot of the stage.
