| Vegas - Country Style - Part One | |
|
This year was my third trip to Vegas during the National Rodeo Finals. Last year I saw Chely Wright and Terri Clark, and the year before I saw Chad Brock. All of those shows were held on Fremont Street, at the Fremont Street Experience. This year I stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton and saw Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley and again, Chely Wright. During the Rodeo, there is a slew of country artists that perform in Vegas, and it's hard to decide when to go and who to see. This year the Rodeo ran from December 7th - 16th, and the following country artists appeared at various different locations in town: Chad Brock, Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allan, Dwight Yoakam, Trick Pony, Lorrie Morgan, Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley, Chely Wright, Ricochet, Robert Earl Keen, Charlie Robison, Mark Chesnutt, Aaron Tippin, Clay Walker, Tracy Lawrence, Clint Black, Tanya Tucker, Chris LeDoux, and SHeDAISY. I arrived Wednesday afternoon and checked in at the Airport. Yep, that's right, at the airport. If you are staying at one of the Park Place hotels, you can do that. These include Caesars, Flamingo Hilton, Las Vegas Hilton, Paris, and Bally's. This was the first time I'd done this and I wish I would have known about it before. It's a great timesaver. If your room is ready, you get your key right there, so you can go directly to your room when you arrive at the hotel. Both the shows were at the Hilton, so I didn't even have to leave the hotel. Brooks & Dunn played from December 10th - 12th, so I caught their last show. Brad and Chely played from the 13th - 15th, so I saw their first show. |
