Songwriter, screenwriter, actor, director, Grammy-award-winning singer; Dwight Yoakam is country music's true Renaissance man. He's done it all and after 16 years of performing, he's showing no signs of slowing down. From his ground-breaking 1986 debut, "Guitars, Cadillacs," to the recent companion soundtrack to the movie "South of Heaven, West of Hell" (which he wrote and directed), Dwight has stayed true to his Appalachian hillbilly roots and his Bakersfield-bred sound.

1.) dwightyoakamacoustic.net - Dwight Yoakam
While not received well commercially, there is no doubt this disc is the best showcase for Dwight's considerable talents as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Of the 25 tracks on the disc, Dwight wrote (or co-wrote) every one of them with the sole exception of the Pomus/Shuman standard, "Little Sister."

2.) Hillbilly Deluxe - Dwight Yoakam
With his second album release, Dwight was ready to get out and prove himself as a real force to
be reckoned with in the music biz. With a handful of self-penned songs and a few widely
diverse covers, Dwight was prepared to show that his success as a "Honky-Tonk Man" was no
accident, and he well deserved the "Best New Male Artist" that the ACM had presented him the
year before.

3.) This Time - Dwight Yoakam
Dwight Yoakam hit his stride with the release of This Time. While his early years were sparked by a great deal of radio play and some excellent performances, all his artistic genius shines in this brilliantly crafted album of music.
