When getting to know an artist's work, sometimes picking up a Greatest Hits package is the best introduction you'd need. What better way than to listen to all the best that artist has recorded? Below, you'll find what I feel are the Top 10 Greatest Hits Collections.
1) Greatest Hits - Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw released his Greatest Hits package at the end of 2000, and even without additional tracks this CD was named the top album of 2001, selling 2 million copies. Nearly all of McGraw's hits are contained here, yet without new material this is for someone that is just getting to know Tim McGraw's work, or the die hard fan that must have everything Tim's released.

2) Greatest Hits - Martina McBride
After eight years and seven albums, Martina McBride has accumalated enough hits to have her own Greatest Hits collection. This collection includes 19 songs, four of which are brand new. And the new songs feel like they're old favorites soon after you've heard them a few times. They're certain to be included on future Greatest Hits compilations.

3) Latest Greatest Straitest Hits - George Strait
"Murder on Music Row," one of the two new songs from this release won the 2001 CMA Song of the year. This album contains songs from Lead On, Blue Clear Sky, Carrying Your Love With Me, and One Step At A Time. Also includes the hit "The Best Day."

During a career that has lasted twenty plus years and is still going strong, you tend to collect a lot of hits. Thus, here is Reba's Greatest Hits III collection, and it's got three new songs along with all the hits you know and love.

5) Greatest Hits II - Clint Black
This is Clint's second Greatest Hits collection, and contains a total of sixteen songs, three of which date back to his first CD. There are also four new songs, one of which is the beautiful duet with Lisa, "Easy For You To Say." The second is "Money or Love," the third is the song he wrote for his new daughter called "Little Pearl and Lily's Lullaby," and the fourth is a bluesy version of "Put Yourself in My Shoes."

6) Greatest Hits - Kenny Chesney
There are greatest hits collections that have about 10 hits and maybe one or two new songs. Then there is Kenny Chesney's collection of hits that gives you 11 of his finest songs, two of them are remixed, one is a live version. Plus there are four new songs to sink your teeth into and realize that these too are destined to be future hits.

7) Greatest Hits: Volume 1 - Toby Keith
Toby wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 14 tracks on the CD. The only songs Toby didn't write were his duet with Sting "I'm So Happy That I Can't Stop Crying," "We Were In Love," and "A Little Less Talk, A Lot More Action." Every track on here was also a Top Ten hit.

8) Greatest Hits - Brooks & Dunn
This album contains 16 of Brooks & Dunn's biggest hits plus three new songs; "Honky Tonk Truth," "He's Got You," and "Days of Thunder." A definite must have for anyone getting into country music. Brooks & Dunn can play honky tonk, touching ballads, and dance tunes with equal flair.

This collection includes 20 songs, including his number one hits; "Chattahoochee," "She's Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues)," "I'd Love You All Over Again," and "Don't Rock the Jukebox."

10) Songbook: A Collection of Hits - Trisha Yearwood
This album was released in 1997 and has sold 2 million copies so far, and for good reason. It includes 12 songs, nine of her best known hits, like "Song Remembers When," "Thinkin' About You," and "XXXs and OOOs (American Girl)," and adds three new songs, a duet with Garth Brooks, "In Another's Eyes," "Perfect Love," and the theme from Con-Air, which won her a Grammy, "How Do I Live."
