Guide Picks - Top Picks - Lost Highway Artists
Lost Highway is a division of Mercury Records, and is home to the O Brother Soundtrack, and the Down From the Mountain project, as well as Tift Merritt, Willie Nelson, and Robert Earl Keen.
1.) Down From The Mountain - Various Artists
Down From The Mountain is an album with music from the artists you hear on the soundtrack for "O Brother Where Art Thou?" It is a definite old-time Bluegrass collection and the songs aren't sugar coated for modern ears. The album is a product of a live concert that was held at the Ryman Auditorium on May 24, 2000.

Songwriting seems to come naturally to Willie, as twelve songs are written by him alone on this album, and the other three were co-written with one other person; "Little Things" written with Shirley Nelson, "A Broken Promise" written with Hank Cochran, and "Night Life" written with Ray Price.
