Guide Picks - Top 3 Montgomery Gentry
Montgomery Gentry consists of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. Both are natives of Kentucky, and Eddie grew up playing in his father's band. Troy won a national talent search contest in 1994, and was set to become a solo artist when it fell through. The two had known each other from being in John Michael Montgomery's band (Eddie's brother), and realized they had something together, and so became a duo. Signed to Columbia Records, they released "Tattoos and Scars" in 1999, and "Carrying On" in 2001. Their latest release is "My Town," released in August 2002.
1) Tattoos and Scars - Montgomery Gentry
This album contains such popular songs as first single, "Hillbilly Shoes," "Lonely and Gone" (which made its way to #5 on the Billboard Charts), and "Daddy Won't Sell The Farm," a tale about the plight of farmers everywhere whose land is being bought to build modern day buildings with a "nonsensical" purpose.

2) Carrying On - Montgomery Gentry
"Ain't gonna break, ain't gonna bend, we're just carrying on..." And Montgomery Gentry does just that with this sophomore album, packed full of the same type of country-rock tunes that won them accolades from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, and Billboard Records.

3.) My Town - Montgomery Gentry
This is an album that is fun to listen to and will be something that will be played many times over. What I like about Montgomery Gentry is that they have such a rowdy image, yet they can still belt out songs like "Break My Heart Again." Expect the unexpected with these guys, and enjoy it all the way.
