Every artist dreams of having a number one album, yet most do not attain this status. While there were more than 10 albums that held the No. 1 spot on the Country Albums charts, these were the ones that held it for the longest.

1) O Brother, Where Art Thou - Various Artists
The soundtrack to O Brother, Where Art Thou spent over 20 weeks at the top of the charts in 2001, and as of March 2002, it has sold over 5 million copies. All this without radio support.

2) Scarecrow - Garth Brooks
With his last studio album, Garth has another winner. Scarecrow topped the album charts for four straight weeks, and sold over 3 million copies.

3) Greatest Hits - Martina McBride
After eight years and seven albums, Martina McBride has accumalated enough hits to have her own Greatest Hits collection. This collection includes 19 songs, four of which are brand new. And the new songs feel like they're old favorites soon after you've heard them a few times. This album stayed on top for three straight weeks.

4) Greatest Hits III: I'm a Survivor - Reba McEntire
During a career that has lasted twenty plus years and is still going strong, you tend to collect a lot of hits. Thus, here is Reba's Greatest Hits III collection, and it's got three new songs along with all the hits you know and love.

5) I'm Already There - Lonestar
I'm Already There is Lonestar's fifth release, and the follow-up to the triple-platinum selling Lonely Grill, and one that is sure to follow in the previous album's footsteps in popularity. This album has a one-two punch that will get you listening if you hadn't before, and keep you listening if you're already a fan.

6) Set This Circus Down - Tim McGraw
There are greatest hits collections that have about 10 hits and maybe one or two new songs. Then there is Kenny Chesney's collection of hits that gives you 11 of his finest songs, two of them are remixed, one is a live version. Plus there are four new songs to sink your teeth into and realize that these too are destined to be future hits.

7) Pull My Chain - Toby Keith
Toby has come to his own with his 2001 release, Pull My Chain. After the huge success of How Do You Like Me Now, Toby takes it a step further with this collection of mostly self-penned songs that are sure to be played on country radio for years to come.

8) Steers & Stripes - Brooks & Dunn
Steers and Stripes is this country duo's ninth release, and contains the No. 1 hits "Only in America," "Ain't Nothin' About You," and "The Long Goodbye."

9) The Road Less Traveled - George Strait
This is George Strait's 28th release, and it makes use of computerized programming to change George's voice on a few of the tracks. With the studio gimmickry out of the way, George, and producer Tony Brown, get down to business with the great Merle Haggard song "My Life's Been Grand. Other standout tracks include the bar room fun of "Good Time Charley's," "The Real Thing" and "She'll Leave You With A Smile."

10) Inside Out - Trisha Yearwood
On this new album Trisha performs songs that show off the voice that won her both ACM and CMA Female Vocalist honors. She also has some help from Don Henley on the title track, and Rosanne Cash on the classic hit that Rosanne wrote and performed in the early 80s, "Seven Year Ache."
