February 26, 2008 - Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus will host the 2008 CMT Music Awards, live from Nashville's Curb Event Center at Belmont University on Monday, April 14, 2008, at 8:00 pm ET/PT on CMT. Not only will they host, but they will also take the stage to perform a duet together.
"Miley and I are so excited to be hosting the CMT Music Awards. We know it will be a fun-filled night with a lot of great music performances," says Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley.
CMT's seventh annual awards show honors country music's elite for the year's most outstanding videos and performances, and continues to be the genre's only fan-voted awards show. Previously announced performers include Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith, with other performances soon to be announced.
The first round of voting has ended and on March 6, CMT will announce the top four finalists in each of the thirteen categories, except "Video of the Year." Fans can then vote online at CMT.com through Friday, April 11 to determine the winners. The final nominees for "Video Of The Year" will be announced at the beginning of the live show, and fans can vote throughout the live broadcast (ET/CT only) to determine the night's big winner.
