BIG & RICH (Nominated for Horizon Award and Vocal Duo of the Year. John Rich is also nominated for Song of the Year.)
Big & Rich have a calling to make "Country Music without prejudice." Big Kenny and John Rich had modestly successful solo careers, and very different personalities, when they met in 1998. Big Kenny, the 6-foot-3-inch carpenter and self-professed Universal Minister of Love, had a large local following in Nashville with his high-energy performances. Rich had been a member of Lonestar, and later had a solo recording contract that fell through shortly after his first album was released. After a few missed appointments to write together, Big Kenny and Rich finally got together, formed a friendship and a loose-knit group of musicians called the MuzikMafia, who got together every Tuesday night at a local Nashville club to jam. Though they resisted becoming a duo at first, Big & Rich eventually warmed to the idea and were signed by Warner Bros. Records. Their double Platinum debut album, Horse Of A Different Color, features Country Music with a little rap, rock and blues on singles "Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)," "Big Time" and "Holy Water." Big & Rich will release their new album Comin' To Your City on Nov. 15.
