MARTINA MCBRIDE (Nominated for Female Vocalist and Musical Event of the Year.)
Martina McBride's powerhouse voice has earned her more than 15 million in album sales; garnered six No.1 hits; and a mantle of honors, including a record-tying four CMA Female Vocalist of the Year trophies. Her fiery, passionate vocals have created such signature hits as "Independence Day," "Wild Angels," "A Broken Wing," "Blessed" and "This One's For The Girls." These songs along with hits "Concrete Angel," "Love's The Only House" and "God's Will" have become not only memorable musical statements, but resounding social commentaries. She has placed nearly 20 singles in the Top 10 and has been named CMA's Female Vocalist for the past three years. This year, the multi-Platinum Country star releases her eighth studio album, Timeless. Unlike any album she has ever recorded, Timeless celebrates her place in a genre she holds dear while reminiscing and paying homage to the songs and artists where this Kansas native's journey began. This is an entire album dedicated to some of the most revered Country classics, covering hits by Eddy Arnold, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette and others. The first single from Timeless is the Lynn Anderson hit, "(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden."
