Sugarland

Although Sugarland is brand-new to the country music airwaves as a trio, the three voices that make up the group have been knocking around music for some time. Lead singer Jennifer Nettles comes from a gospel background, having been a part of Soul Miner's Daughter, while Kristen Hall was a singer/songwriter with several solo albums of her own. Kristian Bush was a member of the folk duo Billy Pilgrim.

Together they bring together a fresh, new sound that combines all their folk/gospel backgrounds into modern pop-country with their first release, a limited EP available only online or at any of the group's live shows, entitled Premium Quality Tunes. This energy took them on a well-received tour and led to a full-length CD, Twice the Speed of Life, produced by Garth Fundis. The folksy trio have arrived strong with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, a fantastic followup to a string of hits, including "Baby Girl," "Something More," and "Just Might (Make Me Believe)"
