Great American Country will devote its entire primetime lineup to three programs that focus on the live and career of Barbara Mandrell on Monday, October 16, 2006.

Barbara Mandrell can sing, dance and put on a whale of a show. But she's had her share of embarrassing moments. Like the time a bad case of the giggles almost killed a scene from her 1984 movie "Burning Rage" in which she was supposed to kiss co-star Tom Wopat. In an interview with GAC's Lorianne Crook, Mandrell says every time she and Wopat got close, she burst out laughing.

Barbara Mandrell likes to take the occasional "power trip." She's flown near the speed of sound in military fighter jets and skydived to earth from 10,000 feet. And as she tells GAC's Lorianne Crook, getting behind the wheel of a car can be a rush.
