(on his tastes in music) "I'm sure there are a few things in my CD collection that might surprise people. I like classical music, the blues, and I'm a big fan of alternative rock."
From the start, Brad has been not only a singer and musician, but a terrific songwriter. He wrote his first song at the age of twelve, and has been writing ever since. Whether he is penning tunes about tender subjects, such as "We Danced," "He Didn't Have to Be," or "She's Everything," or the crazy fun stuff like "Ticks," "I'm Gonna Miss Her," or "Online," Brad has country music fans loving every word.

After high school, Brad studied for a time at West Liberty State College, and earned a full-paid scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville. It was in Belmont that Brad would meet Frank Rogers, who would go on to become his producer. He also became friends with Kelley Lovelace, and the two became songwriting partners.
A career begins
After being signed to Arista Nashville, Brad released his first album, Who Needs Pictures in 1999. Within seven months of its release, Brad had his first No. 1 hit with "He Didn't Have To Be," the story of his writing partner Kelly Lovelace's relationship with his stepson.
Induction into the Grand Ole Opry
On February 21, 2001, Brad was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and for that special event, Brad read a note that he received from George Jones that read, "When Randy Travis came along he brought back enthusiasm for traditional country music. Then more recently, Alan Jackson has reminded fans of how great traditional country music is. And now I am counting on you to carry on the tradition and make folks sit up and listen to what good country music should sound like."
Brad released his sophomore release, Part II, which earned him four more Top 10 songs, including the No. 1, "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)."
In 2003, he followed that up with Mud on the Tires, which featured the No. 1 hit, "Celebrity." The video for the song featured celebrities such as Jason Alexander, William Shatner, "Little" Jimmy Dickens, Jim Belushi, and Trista Rehn.
Time Well Wasted was released in 2005, which had two magical duets, with Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton.
Six Straight No. 1 Hits
In 2007, Brad released 5th Gear. With three straight No. 1 songs from his previous album, Brad continued the streak with three more from 5th Gear. The seventh single, "I'm Still a Guy," is moving up the charts, and after four weeks, is in the Top 20 (03/29/08 chart), and has a great chance of following the others.
Winning Male Vocalist Becomes Reality
In 2007, Brad realized another dream in winning not only the ACM Male Vocalist, but also the CMA Male Vocalist award as well.
He's come a long way in ten years, with 13 No. 1 songs, and his next big tour, called the American Saturday Night tour will begin in June 2009, the same month he releases his latest studio album of the same name. He's just getting better and better all the time.
