Ty England - Alive and Well

Triple T Records
Bottom Line:

If you are looking for solid country music then you won't be disappointed in this album. Ty England is following in the footsteps of many artists who just want to get their music to their fans and it has been released on the independent label, Triple T Records. It was jointly produced by Ty England, Tim Russel and Tim Condict and England had a hand in writing or co-writing the majority of songs on the album. It is truly and album from the heart and it shows.

The Road Back After Time Off

Ty England spent years on the road as a band member for one of the hottest acts in the business, Garth Brooks. Performing in front of one sold out show after another not only allowed him to do what he loved but also brought him to the attention of some people in the business who could make a difference in his career. He was approached with an offer to make his own records and he jumped at the chance. He signed with RCA in 1995 and released two albums before taking some time off to be a dad and raise his family. England says that his number one goal was to have great kids, and to raise great kids you have to be there. As they got older he decided to continue making the music that was always in his heart. He was raised on country music, the real stuff, and you won't find any of the pop country sound on his albums. He came back with some heavy touring in 2002 and 2003 and became a real fan favorite on the road. The successful road tours continued and he started working on a new album. He chose songs that he can relate to on a personal level and was part of the writing team on six of the ten tracks. There is no question that each and every song is pure country music.

What to Expect From the 'New' Ty England

The first song on the album, "Love is Stronger," almost seems like a biography of sorts. It's a strong start to a great album. But it basically talks about starting over. And in effect, this album is a brand new start for England.

"The Perfect Girl" is an upbeat number that has him almost in shock that he ended up with an amazing girl made just for him. He talks about how he couldn't stick with a relationship but then there she was and she has all the same interests he does. "Texans Hold'em" is a play on words about those Texas ladies and their abilities to handle the opposite sex. It is a fun little song.

While there are several songs that are perfect to do the Texas Two step and a little Western Swingin' as well, there are a couple of ballads for those slow moments on the dance floor with your love. "Nothing But Love," "Stick To Your Guns" and "It Must Be Colorado" all showcase the vocal abilities of England and draw you into the story that he's telling.

And then of course, you have those cool southern type songs. "Redneck Anthem" is the single and is just what the title says. It tells you just what it means to be a redneck and very proud of it thank you very much. "The NRA Song" is another southern tradition themed tune. If you live in the south, and you are truly a redneck, then your pickup truck has a gun rack in the back window complete with rifles and you are a card carrying member of the NRA. Overall, this is a great album and one where all the lyrics actually have a story to tell and they aren't just fluff. Anyone that misses the traditional sounds of country music will find this album to be a refreshing addition to their collection.
