This is the ultimate album for any person who is a fan of Angela Hacker from Nashville Star. There are five originals included along with five studio-recorded versions of songs that were performed on the television show.
"Love Me Wild" is an upbeat song about a woman who wants to live life to the fullest with the man she loves. She tells him to surrender to the rollercoaster ride he's about to experience and throw caution to the wind. Angela's version of "Strawberry Wine" is full of soul and unique when compared to Deana Carter's recording. It was wise placing this song second as almost a woman's remembrance of what happened in "Love Me Wild."
The pedal steel in "You Got Me" is a wonderful touch to lyrics like "Come and let me whisper in your ear. I will wash away all your tears." The woman promises to be there for the man whenever he needs her. She'll be there to wipe away the tears and erase his heartache. The only problem is, he doesn't know she feels that way about him. Almost along the same lines of the previous song is "I Can't Make You Love Me." It is perfectly suited for Angela's voice and she does an outstanding job on it.
Brother Zac Hacker joins Angela on the album's closing track, "Hard To Handle." Being a fan of Zac, I'm glad he's also featured on this release. If these songs are any indication of what's to come from Angela Hacker, she'll have a fan in me.
