American Idol's 2006 season continues giving Americans outstanding talent with this new release. Bucky Covington's self-titled CD is a deep look into small town living in the South. The music reflects the man. Warm, inviting, fun and a complete joy to listen to, from the first song to the very last. Whether it's a warm and tender ballad, or a country rocker good time song, Bucky's vocal are delivered with passion and ease. The collection contains 11 tracks that I think you're really gonna enjoy.
"A Different World," the first release from the CD has done very well on the charts. This song takes Bucky back only 29 years, he is just a youngin', and I'm sure even in his very short life the world seems like a very different place. But take someone like me who's a little older, and let's just leave it at I'm a very young, middle-aged age, I related so much to the lyrics of the song. Life gets busy and you forget so easily how simple things used to be until you hear a beautiful song like this one and it brings back so many memories.
Bucky has given us a country music version of the legendary Otis Redding song, "Sittin On The Dock of The Bay," by including a song called, "Hometown." With a very similar melody but one that's completely it's own, this song either makes you homesick, or puts you in a deep appreciation for that special place you personally call home. A beautifully written song and one of my favorites.
I think this might just be the new CD to have this summer. If you were already a fan of Bucky's your gonna be thrilled, and if you weren't an Idol fan or living in a third world country and weren't able to watch, you must give this CD a listen. Bucky's down home, fun loving adorable personality shines throughout each song and it truly has been one of the best I've heard for awhile.
