Little Texas - Missing Years

Montage Records
Bottom Line:

After a seven-year hiatus Little Texas is finally back on the airwaves. Known in the 90's as one of country's supergroups, their tight, rich harmonies combined with some very memorable songs catapulted them to fame. Those beautiful harmonies are better than ever and have been seasoned to perfection on this nice mix of songs sure to get some attention this summer on the charts.

Proclaiming that everyone has at least a little "Rebel" in them, Little Texas starts their new release out with a fast paced round-up call for everyone to join them cuttin' loose and raising a little rebel hell. Written in part by Porter Howell, the band's lead vocalist, it's the first in a whole slew of selections written by this multi-talented ensemble of 4. Seven of the eleven tracks are straight from Little Texas. "Gotta Get Me Down Home" and "Texas 101" are two more songs that tell what home is to the guys. The latter being a little humorous at times but good or bad these Texans are proud and Texas is where they wanna be.

The title track, "Missing Years," is classic Little Texas. Heavily laden with those fantastic harmonies and lyrics delivered with the perfect amount of feeling the song actually pulls you in to the story. Leaving home right after graduation, looking for something that's just missing sometimes leads a person down a long lonely road. Returning home years later is met with the realization all that was really missing was just being home. This song is definitely my favorite on the CD, and if released as a single surely will be a great hit for the band.

"Knees" is another song showcasing their harmonies. When you loose someone you don't want to, sometimes all you can do to rise above the pain is hit your knees and pray for the strength to just let them go.

Another favorite of mine is "Party Life." Hanging out at Carlos and Charlie's, this song is all about the night club life. Fast and fun and a real toe tapper this song makes ya wanna sing-a-long and dance.

After being absent from the music scene for so many years, the band has had some changes but are back and better than ever. From sad and slow to fast paced and fun and everything in between this CD will be a nice addition to your country collection.
