Bottom Line:
Billy Ray Cyrus joins a growing list of artists releasing new music for the summer. This one is sure to please not only his current fan base but gain him a whole lot of new ones. It contains 14 tracks of some very reflective lyrics set to a wide spectrum of tempos. Whether your looking for a light, easy going melody or wanting to rock your socks off you'll find both on this CD.

I had a Mullet?

Well not really. But if you had been around my house this week, you would have heard me suddenly and for no apparent reason burst out singing, "I Want My Mullet Back!" On several occasions I included a pretty impressive air guitar solo complete with hair slinging. Can you say, "Tom Cruise, Risky Business? It wasn't a pretty site for my family to witness but this song is catchy and it makes you wanna move. The country rocking beat and reflective lyrics get stuck in your head like short on a mini-skirt. And speaking of mini-skirts, that's just one of a whole list of things Billy's been missing from his youth. He reminisces further by paying tribute to Nascar's Dale Earnhardt in a song called, "The Man" and then re-lives that fateful day many of us lived through our own version of the day the music died when we lost Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd in a horrible plane crash. Both songs are beautifully written and set to gentle flowing music.

Every good country album has to include some love songs and this CD is no exception. The first release from the CD is a song called, "Wanna Be Your Joe." Joe is the kind of man that works hard for his family, finds his greatest pleasures in pleasing his family and that's all the author wants to be for his wife and family as he asks to be their Joe. One of more touching love songs is called, "Hey Daddy." A little girl's desire for her ever too busy father to slow down and enjoy her youth before it's gone. Suffering through times of heartache we hear, "What About Us," and "I Wonder."

Special Guests:

Loretta Lynn and George Jones lend their legendary voices very traditional sounding, "Country Music Has The Blues." An all too real look at the state of today's version of country music. Currently starring on Disney's Hannah Montana along with his real-life daughter Miley, who lends her very pretty voice on, "Stand." With inspiring lyrics and a "happy-go-lucky" tempo you can't help but to sing along.

The Saddest Song Of All

It's not what you think but one that is sure to hit home with anyone who has been to the gas pumps lately. With just his guitar, his voice and a most impressive "whistler" Billy darn near brings ya to tears with this bonus track, "A Pain In The Gas." Anyone who hears is sadly gonna relate to these whimsical and most creative lyrics. I think you'll enjoy this entire CD.
