Guide Review - Lynn Anderson - 16 Biggest Hits
Lynn Anderson is the latest artist to be featured in the Legacy Records series called 16 Biggest Hits. And when you listen to this well produced CD of her music, you can't help but be reminded of the glory days of country music when the songs were simple and sweet. When the songs had catchy hooks and melodies that stayed with you.Everyone remembers Lynn Anderson's 1970 country/pop hit song "Rose Garden." But Lynn Anderson was no 'one hit wonder,' not by a long shot. The collection of songs on this CD are a retrospective of Lynn Anderson's recording career from years 1966 through 1973 with Columbia Records. Her voice sounds just as pure and beautiful on these recordings as it ever has in years gone by. Some of the forgotten favorites on this CD are, "How Can I Unlove You," "If I Kiss You (Will You Go Away)," "Flattery Will Get You Everywhere," "What a Man My Man Is" and "Stay There Till I Get There."
This CD also contains her 1973 remake of The Carpenters hit song "Top Of The World." The nice thing about this collection of Lynn Anderson songs is that they are all the original stereo single versions just as you remember hearing them when they were new. None of these songs have been re-recorded for this 16 Biggest Hits collection. Even the songs I was unfamiliar with became fast favorites of mine. So, if you like the sound of the traditional country music from years gone by. You will truly enjoy this collection of Lynn Anderson's 16 Biggest Hits.
