Guide Review - John Berry - Hits
I had the opportunity to talk with John Berry at CRS in Nashville this past March. He gave us a great interview and provided a lot of interesting background information. This album is just an appetizer for what is coming. He has an album of new music to be released on his own label, Clear Sky Records, in May. Meanwhile, you can get your John Berry fix with some old favorites via HITS. This is very close to the Capitol release, "Greatest Hits," from 2000. The only difference is that the duet with Wynonna has been removed and replaced with "When A Man Loves A Woman." They chose some of Berry's biggest hits to include on this collection. He has the perfect voice for love songs. I always think of him as the country version of Barry White in that respect. It wouldn't be a Greatest Hits album without the song "Your Love Amazes Me." Some other songs you'll find are "She's Taken A Shine," "Standing on the Edge of Goodbye" and "I Think About It All The Time." His tenor soars effortlessly over the lyrics, bringing them to life for the listener. If you have John Berry albums in your collection already, this is a great way to have some of your favorite songs in one spot. And if you don't have his music yet, this is the perfect start for your collection. It is well worth checking out and is wonderful for those times you just need to kick back and relax. The music is soothing and will help the stress levels go down a notch or two.
