Guide Review - Bellamy Brothers - Angels & Outlaws, Volume 1
The Bellamy Brothers have been rocking country ever since they first broke some unusual barriers by crossing over FROM pop into country back in the late 70's. David Bellamy had written "Spiders and Snakes" for Jim Stafford, and the brothers recorded the smash pop hit "Let Your Love Flow," when they hit the country charts with "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)." It's been country music ever since. They still rock it country style with this new release, "Angels & Outlaws," a collection of classic hits recorded with some of country music's greatest names, including George Jones, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Charlie Daniels, and Bobby Bare, as well as several great Americana artists, including Pat Green and Trini Triggs. These new recordings are crisp, sharp, fun to listen to, and a great reminder that the Bellamy Brothers really are worthy of the nominations they get and they really should be seriously considered for the awards, not to mention radio airplay.
This is the first volume in the Angels & Outlaws series, with several more tracks with more guest stars already laid down and ready to go. All together, it should be a formidable collection, and a dang good time to listen to. These brothers make some fine, fine music.
