Guide Review - Charlie Daniels Band - Fiddle Fire 25 years of The Charlie Daniels Band
This collection whisks you through 25 years of legendary hits like; "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," a newer version that's just as rockin' if not better than the original and "Drinking My Baby Goodbye." "Boogie Woogie Fiddle Country Blues," and "The South's Gonna do it Again" weren't quite as well known as the previous two songs but defintely songs that will keep you tappin' away to the beat. Also included "Layla," originally released by Eric Clapton, and a very surprising addition to the CD since the tempo isn't the normal fast driving beat contained in most of the other songs. "Orange Blossom Special" really shows off Charlie's legendary fiddle playing and is probably one of the best songs on the CD. "Talk to Me Fiddle" a great story telling song that demands you to listen until the end to find out how the fiddle's journey took it from a Jewish Immigrant's home, through the deep south, and finally into its' final home as the song writer proclaims its' traveling days are now over. Another favorite of mine was "High Lonesome." A very bluesy sounding piece that makes you long to return to the mountains if you've ever savored all the senses a view like that will stir up on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
