Guide Review - Johnny Cash - Cash the Legend
Disc One is called 'Win, Place And Show - The Hits.' Some of the 27 tracks are, "I Walk The Line," Folsom Prison Blues," "Oney" and "Daddy Sang Bass." Disc two is called 'Old Favorites and New.' Some of the 27 songs there are, "Hey Porter," "Five Feet High and Rising," "Cocaine Blues," and "25 Minutes to Go." Disc three is 'The Great American Songbook.' You will find songs like "The Wreck of the Old 97," The Legend of John Henry's Hammer," "Wabash Cannonball" and "Pick A Bale of Cotton" among the 26 songs on this CD. Disc Four is titled 'Family and Friends' and is exactly what the title says. Each of the 24 tracks has a guest artist(s) singing with Johnny. Included are several songs with June Carter Cash and the Carter Family, including "Keep On The Sunny Side" and one of my all time favorites, "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord," which features the amazing vocals of Rosie Carter. Bob Dylan joins him for "Girl From the North Country." Other voices you will hear on this disc are Marty Stuart, Ray Charles, U2, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Tommy Cash and many more. This set is about 6 hours of great music. There is not a bad song to be found. It is excellent music from song one of the first disc to song 24 on disc four. Johnny Cash was one in a million and his talent knew no boundaries. His unique style made him a household name all over the world.
