Guide Review - Terri Clark - 'Life Goes On'
Before I received Life Goes On, I was only familiar with Terri Clark's radio singles & only one of her previous releases (Pain To Kill). After listening to these twelve tracks I can't believe I've been missing out on so much of Terri's great music. Next time she releases an album you can bet I'll be anxious to buy it.On the first track, Terri sings about how "Life Goes On," despite heartaches & breakups. "Before too long you figure out you're right where you belong," she sings after mentioning how she found the perfect man. Another uptempo track, "Damn Right," is about a woman who sheds a tear as her love's airplane flies away. In her eyes, they were meant to be together, & she will miss his company. "She Didn't Have Time" may start out sad, but the way it ends is perfect. She finds the love of her life when he fixes her flat tire & he says he loves children. Back in her "Cowboy Days," the goody-two-shoes fell for a wild man with a George Strait smile, despite not having her parent's approval.
"Travelin' Soul" is slow & really showcases Terri's beautiful voice. "Everybody's Gotta Go Sometime" tells a story about an eighteen year-old girl who wants to make it in Nashville. Her dad's heart is broken but it is something she's already set her mind on. "It takes a lot of faith to find the strength to walk away." Terri warns a man leaving that he'll "Tear It All Down" in the last song. "You're ripping down what we put up. Demolishing this house of love."
