Guide Review - Rockie Lynne - Rockie Lynne
Rockie Lynne's debut CD was literally an accident waiting to happen. He wasn't looking for a record deal, when one found him. One year prior to signing with Universal South Records, Rockie Lynne played 300 one-nighter shows in honkytonks, dive bars and clubs, while all the while perfecting his craft as a singer, guitar player, song writer and live performer.Well, all that work has paid off as evidence of his self titled debut CD. Some of the stand out songs on this CD are "Lipstick" where he and his lady love try to recapture some of the lost love of a romance from years gone by. In this song, he sings "you can put your lipstick on while I drive." The song "More" is where Rockie is telling the lady in his life that no matter how much you love me, I'll always love you more. "That's Where Songs Come From" is a song about a guy who has had more than his fair share of hard times, bumps and bruises in his life, but thats where songs come from.
The CD closes with a song called "Red, White and Blue." This isnt just another flag waving patriotic song. This talks about every one of the people of this nation who have given their all to make this land what it is. With lyrics like "Some have had to give it all, The black man, the white man and the Sioux. The middle class, the poor and the well to do., They're red, white and blue" So, if you are looking for a CD with strong vocals and meaningful lyrics, you might want to give Rockie Lynnes debut CD a listen.
