Guide Review - Vince Gill - Let There Be Peace on Earth
The album was released in 1993, shortly after Vince lost his older brother, Bob. He penned the closing tune, "It Won't Be The Same This Year" in tribute to his brother.
I really love Vince's version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." I remembered the video he released for the song, and it brought back memories of it as I heard it.
I love Vince's Chet Atkins-styled instrumental of "Santa Claus is Coming To Town." This is great fun to listen to.
Vince's daughter Jenny duets with him on the title track, which is very lovely. She's a natural with two musical parents.
I highly recommend this album to anyone that loves Christmas music. You don't even have to be a fan of country music, as these are very traditional arrangements to the songs. I've found another wonderful addition to my Christmas holidays each year.
