Reba: 50 Greatest Hits Bottom Line
Reba McEntire has been one of the most influential female artists in country music for nearly thirty years now. It seems every single she releases shoots straight to the top and on this 3 CD set, all of Reba's hit tunes can be heard in chronological order, dating back to the start of her amazing career. Although there are multiple "greatest hits" packages that have been released on Reba's music over the years, nothing beats Reba: 50 Greatest Hits.About Reba McEntire
There are two women in country music who have been given the title, "The Queen Of Country Music." The first one is Country Music Hall of Fame member Kitty Wells and the other is Reba McEntire. From the second she was discovered singing the "National Anthem" at a rodeo in Oklahoma nearly thirty years ago, she has been cranking out one hit after another.Although music is her main passion and primary focus, Reba has always tried to broaden her horizons. First she dabbled in acting. This consisted of some smaller "made for TV" movies and eventually landed a role on the silver screen when she appeared with Kevin Bacon in Tremors.
Reba eventually made her way to New York City where she earned the lead role in the musical Annie Get Your Gun. If this wasn't enough, Reba then made her way to Hollywood in order to star in her of television series.
To some, Reba was turning her back on country music, but to others this was a way for her to experience other opportunities. During the five years that Reba was airing on television, she still managed to release a couple albums and continue to tour in the off season. After the show came to an end, Reba McEntire went back to touring and singing the music she loved the most. If you truly look into her amazing life, she has accomplished more in her career than most people can even comprehend. There is no way that all of her work could be put onto one CD, so a boxed set seemed to be the only thing to do.

Reba: 50 Greatest Hits - The Songs
This is a set that is truly amazing. Just about every tune that Reba McEntire has ever released to radio is covered on here. The first song available is "How Blue" and then followed by "Somebody Should Leave." Both of these tunes are amazing, but "Somebody Should Leave" will take your breath away. There are so many people in this world that have been the victims of divorce. That is exactly what this song is about. "Somebody should leave, but which one should is be, you need the kids and they need me" pretty well sums it all up. Everyone suffers when the household splits."Whoever's In New England" is what people in the music industry would call Reba's "signature song." There are a lot of people who have to travel do to their job. Unfortunately, this opens up the doors for them to have some sort of "extra" life. No one is around to keep them in check. The character's husband is constantly gone and she starts to realize that there is someone else that he is seeing while he is away. The impressive thing about this song is that she is not trying to get even or anything. She simply lets him know that she will be there when he is finished in Boston.
"Cathy's Clown" was a huge hit for Reba. Sometimes people get together for all of the wrong reasons and it takes someone from the outside to point it out.
"Walk On" brings the first disc to a close. This has always been a personal favorite. It is an upbeat, positive song that shows people that even when things are tough, you have to keep going. Things always get better eventually.
"Fancy" and "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" were both smash hits for Reba on the radio and CMT. No one in country music had ever attempted to sing either of these tunes in the manner that Reba did. She teamed up with Vince Gill for a duet called "The Heart Won't Lie" and then with Linda Davis for "Does He Love You." These songs are almost like a mental movie. Reba reads you the script and the rest is up to your imagination.
The third disc contains Reba's most recent tunes. "The Fear Of Being Alone" is one of the most played hits that fans can hear on the radio. The title sums it up perfectly. For anyone that is single, it is easy to relate to the words that are said throughout this tune.
Reba teamed up with Brooks & Dunn on "If You See Him, If You See Her." This is a breakup song where the characters are confiding in a friend. They are both having second thoughts and their friend is stuck in the middle.
"I'm A Survivor" ended up being the theme song for her TV show and it inspired millions.
Reba teamed up with Kelly Clarkson on "Because Of You." This is about someone who is hurt so bad that they may never love again.
Hearing these fifty hits will prove to you that Reba is the queen.
