Billy: The Early Years Bottom Line:

America has been fortunate enough to be able to call Billy Graham one of our own. His main mission in life has been to spread the word of God to anyone who would listen. Now, there is a movie that is dedicated to his life and how he became one of the most famous ministers ever. With the help of Arista Nashville, the soundtrack to Billy: The Early Years is available and features some of Nashville's hottest acts.

About Billy Graham

Who is Billy Graham? To some he is an icon, and to others he is just another preacher trying to turn everyone into a Christians. The fact of the matter is that he is one of the kindest men to ever walk to face of the earth. Johnny Cash commented numerous times in different books on the fact that they were very close friends and the it was clear that Johnny respected him to the highest level.

Over the past seven decades, Billy has worked diligently on spreading the word of God in one of the most positive ways. He has always lived by example. Throughout his career as a minister, Billy has been one of the best selling authors in history. This accomplishment is an understatement to the fact that he has been an advisor to ten different presidents. It seemed at some point or another just about everyone has reached out to Billy in order to seek comfort, knowledge, or just plain help.

On November 7th, 2008, Billy Graham will be celebrating his 90th birthday. Along with this huge milestone, there is also a movie that has been released that focuses on Billy Graham's early life and how his path led him to where he is today. One thing that turns people off of religion is when people preach to them about every little thing they do. That has never been Billy's style. He has always preached from his heart and people seem to take in every word with great appreciation. The actor who portrays Billy is Armie Hammer, who some of you may remember from the movie Flicka, which starred Tim McGraw.

Billy: The Early Years - The Songs:

The first song off of this amazing soundtrack is a tune by Brooks & Dunn called "Over The Next Hill." They brought on an additional guest to share the vocals. He is none other than Mac Powell, who is the lead singer from the hit group Third Day. This tune is so powerful that by the end you will have chills. It is a song that offers hope by describing different situations and explaining that things may be bad here on earth, but eventually we will make it to the other side and things will be better. This song is perfect for anyone who is feeling down or even suffering from a loss.

Sara Evans actually sings the first single that was released from the record called "Low." It is a very inspiring song that talks about how people can get down, but when that happens, we need to pick ourselves back up. Nothing lasts forever and that includes the tough times.

One song on this album features Alan Jackson called "Look At Me." Sometimes when people think of public figures, they don't think about their spouses or the fact that these people actually date. This song talks about how the character feels about his love interest and the possibilities that are still ahead. There was no one in country music who could deliver a tune as sharp as Alan Jackson did.

"Heavenly Day" and "Amazing Love" are both great tunes, but to hear Roy Orbison's "In Dreams" was awesome. No one will ever copy the sound that he made famous.

Brad Paisley gives an acoustic recording of the classic "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."

If the movie is half as good as the soundtrack, then everyone is in for a treat.
