Fifty Years Bottom Line:

Kenny Rogers is one of the most well-known country music entertainers in the history of the genre. His raspy voice shot him to the top back in the 70's and has helped him remain there still to this day. It seems that no matter what song he chooses, it is destined to go straight to the top. Now, with the help of Cracker Barrel, Kenny Rogers' latest CD Fifty Years is being sold, with three new tunes, exclusively in America's favorite country store.

About Kenny Rogers

One thing that fans have always admired about Kenny Rogers is his ability to deliver a song like no other. His musical catalog is so extensive, there is no way to put it all on one CD.

Kenny Rogers originally got his start in country music along with The First Edition. After they had a few hits under their belts, Kenny went on to pursue a solo career. This proved to be one of the smartest choices he ever made. This opened up the door for him to record songs that he felt fit his style the best. Kenny not only went on to become one of the biggest names in country music, he also became a huge hit at the box office, as well as in his "made for TV" movie The Gambler. The movie was created after the amazing amount of success that he had with the song "The Gambler."

Kenny Rogers was no stranger to duet partners either. He has never had an issue with sharing the stage with some of Music City's most famous females in order to create songs that they could share with the world. Kenny first teamed up with Dottie West, and then later with Dolly Parton.

Throughout his entire career, Kenny has won countless awards from every major organization in the business. He has recorded songs which were written by everyone from Mel Tillis to Lionel Richie.

In the past when it looked like Kenny Rogers was finished making new music, he comes out with a new record, tearing up the charts.

Fifty Years - The Songs:

Fifty Years has a total of twelve songs, three of which are brand new. Although it is not a record that is full of new material, this is the next best thing.

"Love Lifted Me" is the first song on the album. It is not a personal favorite, but it does bring to the table a great song that many people can relate to.

The first new song that is included on this record is "She'll Believe You." This is a great tune that brings to life all of the feelings that people go through in a relationship. Somehow, Kenny Rogers hits his mark every single time he records a tune, and this is proof.

Now, for those of you who have followed Kenny's work, "Islands In The Stream" may be at the top of your list of "Kenny Rogers" favorites. He teamed up with Dolly Parton and created more magic than anyone could have anticipated. Still to this day, the second this song starts, fans from all over the world have no problem guessing this timeless classic.

"The Gambler" was a smash hit for Kenny. After he recorded this song and it shot to the top, he was offered a role in the movie. Well, Kenny ended up playing in all of the movies and they are still favorites among western movie lovers. It is about a man who is traveling on a train and gets into a poker game with a stranger. Once they started playing, Kenny realized the man was much more than a poker player, he was a drifter who was very wise, and could teach life lessons, simply through a card game.

"Love Will Turn You Around" can be heard on this record, along with "Lady," "Lucille," and a duet with Dottie West called "Every Time Two Fools Collide."

"Only Time Will Tell" is another new song and the title pretty well sums it up. For a Kenny Rogers project, this is average. What makes it great is the mixture of his classic hits with a few new ones.
