Rhonda Vincent has became one of the most recognizable names in bluegrass. When she releases an album, fans flock to stores to make sure they have it. Even the biggest names in country and bluegrass music have credited her for helping boost bluegrass to a whole new level. She sings about life, love and anything in between. Her voice is as beautiful as she is, and her music is to die for.
Whenever she is performing, it is easy to believe what she is saying. If you watch the other members of the audience it is obvious she is holding everyone in the palm of her hand. Rhonda is not only an awesome singer, her talent on the guitar and mandolin is unbelievable as well. She stands tall among all the men in her life. She tours all year long with some of the best musicians bluegrass has to offer. Rhonda and her band "The Rage" have performed numerous times on the Grand Ole Opry and at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville. She brings a sense of tradition, as well as her own twist to her music on every album.
Bluegrass is one of the few genres that can make any song fast. It doesn't matter if it's about love, life, hating, leaving, or plowing the fields, it can be fast, and in your face. Rhonda does just that on "I'm Leaving." She explains to her man that she is not happy, and she's not doing it anymore. It is a great foot stomping song that everyone will enjoy.
She slows it down on a duet with Russell Moore on "I Give All My Love To You." The title track is an awesome song as well. Anyone can relate to it. She sings her heart out about a relationship that, although it may be tough at times, it works out just fine in the end.
Rhonda teamed up with country music icon, Keith Urban, on "The Water Is Wide." The words are definitely cold, and hearing Keith Urban singing harmony will give you chills.
Speeding this album up for the grand finale, "Bluegrass Saturday Night" takes your mind on a road trip down memory lane. It's a tribute to all the bluegrass pickers who paved the way, and even throws in one of the greatest sponsors in the world Martha White. If you are a fan of bluegrass, go out and buy this record. You will love it!
