Rich in sound and style, few artists carry a voice of this magnitude.
Combining country, soul and blues, Rissi offers her own touch to every track. Writing nine of the twelve songs on this album helped introduce to world to her writing capabilities as well as her voice. Her style sounds like a mix of LeAnn Rimes and Patsy Cline. Her album has a great blend of slower love songs and some upbeat tunes that will surely be grasped by the younger generations.
For the most part her tunes consist of typical country sounds which include the fiddle, mandolin, dobro and acoustic guitar. All the songs on this album have their own unique sound which helps add to its appeal. It is always great to see a new artist deliver an album that has quality. Rissi brings a brand of country that is fun and heartfelt that will appeal to fans all over.
Slowing it down with "Anybody Out There," Rissi sings about the one thing everyone is looking for, and that is love.
Singing just comes natural for her. Hitting every note perfectly, it is amazing she was not discovered earlier in her life.
"Hurting Don't Know When To Quit" is a slower tune and continues on her heartfelt trend of breakup tunes. Picking up the pace again, she delivers another fun tune called "Mr. Ooh La La." It is obvious she can sing anything whether is pours out of her head onto paper or someone else writes it for her.
A personal favorite is "Flowers On My Window Ledge." This tune stands out among the others simply because of the catchy chorus and the story behind it.
There is one song that may sound very familiar to everyone. She includes a remake of Patsy Cline's classic tune "Leavin' On Your Mind." Although this is a remake, Rissi adds her own touch to make it her own. For anyone who loves modern country music with a unique blend you must get Rissi Palmer's self titled debut album. It is a must for any collection.
