Bottom Line:Montgomery Gentry continue to release albums with their special mix of country and rock and roll. 'Some People Change' is a collection of twelve tracks and was produced by Montgomery Gentry along with Jeffery Steele, Mark Wright, and Rivers Rutherford. While there is a good assortment of slower and uptempo songs, I wish there could have been more upbeat tunes this time around.
You can't help how you were raised and the bad things you inherited from your parents, but "Some People Change." They see the light and the error of their ways and they make a change for the better. Complaining comes easy but if you take a look at what other people have and what they don't, you just might realize you're a "Lucky Man." "God's given me a pretty fair hand," Eddie sings. Just because you don't have it "all" doesn't mean you don't have anything of real importance. It "Takes All Kinds" of people to make the world go around according to the next song. There's no telling what the world would be like if we all believed in exactly the same things. "Your Tears Are Comin'" really kicks things up and adds that rocking Montgomery Gentry sound to the album. The woman may have all the man's money as she has a good time with another man, but she should remember that five little word - karma. It will come back to haunt her someday.
"Twenty Years Ago," a father and son did nothing but fight because they were so much alike. The son walked out one autumn day. He never talked to his father again until his mom told him he didn't have long to live. He went to see his father and he cried and said "Twenty years ago, thought I knew it all. Trying to talk to me was like talking to a wall. All I want right now is just to be your kid." Before the father passed he took his boy's hand and replied "Son, let it go. That was twenty years ago." In "What Do You Think About That," a man is proud of who he is and the way he lives his life. He wears what he wants, cranks up his music, and drives his truck without worrying what other people think about it. A woman, who was letting the fear of growing older get to her, left a man for someone younger. Now the man she left is asking if she really thought a boy could do "A Man's Job." When it comes to getting good advice, you really should pay attention to older folks and the wisdom they preach. There is never a "Free Ride In The Fast Lane." Because for "Every ounce of pleasure there's a pound of pain." You have to be a hard worker to reap the rewards and come by them honestly.
