How This Project Came To Be:

This two disc Inspirational album has been a project that legions of Milsap fans have been asking about for many years now. Milsap says that to sing these songs requires him to share what is inside of his soul, and that is something he has long been shy about doing. It was far easier to hide behind songs like "Daydreams About Night Things" and "Stranger in My House." But he decided the time was finally right for this project and began the process of song selection before heading into the studio. He chose 24 songs that are traditional southern gospel and the album is being released through Star Song Music and EMI CMG Label Group.

Then Sings My Soul - About the Songs:

Fans will find a mix of powerful, reverent and upbeat that will soothe their soul while they enjoy the message the music brings. "World of Wonder" and the current single, "Up to Zion," are two newer songs that Milsap felt spoke to his heart and he wanted to share them with his fans.

"How Great Thou Art" is a song that few people can do true justice to; and Milsap's still incredibly rich and vibrant voice soars through it, making it seem effortless as he hits the wide range of notes.

The reverence and emotion he feels for the material he is performing is evident in songs such as "Amazing Grace," "Have Thine Own Way" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

The mood lightens with upbeat songs that include "I'll Fly Away," "Swing Down Chariot" and "Stand By Me." I also liked the arrangement of those particular songs as they suited his singing style to perfection. This is an album I'd definitely recommend to my friends.
