Mercury Nashville
Bottom Line:

Just A Matter Of Time is the Randy Rogers Band's third studio release and it has a total of twelve tracks. Eleven of the twelve songs were co-written by Randy with songwriters such as Radney Foster, George Ducas, Clint Ingersol, and Drew Womack. "You Don't Know Me" was solely written by Jon Richardson. The album was produced by Radney Foster and on four songs features background vocals by Shelly Fairchild.

When a relationship is too far gone, then the couple is "Better Off Wrong" according to the first song. People are going to talk about you and think it was wrong to break it off but they weren't behind-the-scenes to begin with. "Kiss Me In The Dark" is the first single from the album and is very radio-friendly. When you're with someone special you never want to let go and those sentiments were wonderfully captured in this song. I just love it. "One More Goodbye" is all the man wants in the next song. He couldn't sleep so he went for a drive and wound up at his former flame's door hoping he could play with fire once more. It's "Just A Matter Of Time" until they are holding each other in the album's title track. "I just want to spend the night wrapped up in you." "You Could've Left Me" is the complete opposite of the previous song. It picks up the pace with lyrics about a woman who had the chance to leave, but she didn't and now he's the one leaving her in his dust. "You Could Change My Mind" is something the man is saying to a certain someone. All it would take is one little look and he would give another go at their relationship.
"You Start Over Your Way," is what Randy sings when it comes to how his ex-girlfriend is always out on the town showcasing how happy she is while he's walking around with a broken heart. Randy wrote the next song, "If Anyone Asks," with former Sons of the Desert front man (and now solo artist) Drew Womack. After a breakup, the man doesn't want broadcast the fact she left him and until he gets his story straight, he wants to lay low. He gave her his best, only to be left alone in the end. There's some outlaw attitude in "You Don't Know Me." It doesn't matter what people think of what he does, because he's living the life he loves. Wondering what the woman would do "If I Told You The Truth," he doesn't know if she'd run off or stay with him. "I can't give up on us. I just know that all I am will someday be enough." "Whiskey's Got A Hold On Me" is what Randy declares in the last song. He can't seem to drink away the hurt he's feeling and he's looking at the world through a pair of bloodshot eyes.
