Guide Review - Blake Shelton - Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill
"Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill" is his 3rd album, and if it follows the pattern of his other albums, he will have at least one No. 1 song on it. His previous No. 1s were "Austin," "The Baby." Here, I think "Some Beach" may be the one to do the trick. This fun song with the hilarious video is great.In other songs, Blake asks his girlfriend to please don't love "nobody but me." In "Good Old Boy, Bad Old Boyfriend," he tries to convince a girl that her current boyfriend is no good for her, and to say "Bye Bubba" and let him be her boyfriend. In "What's On My Mind" he sings 'you can't handle what's on my mind.'
My favorite tune has to be the beautiful "Goodbye Time," which I think will rival "The Baby" in popularity as a favorite ballad with Blake's fans. He sings 'If being free's worth what you leave behind...it's goodbye time."
Blake has fun in "Cotton Pickin' Time" skinny dipping with Becky Morgan. In contrast Blake sings from the Bartender's point of view, talking about the people that visit his bar.
The final song "I Drink" has Blake recognizing that he's becoming just like his dad. He sings, 'Fish swim, birds fly, daddy's yell, mama's cry. Old men, sit and think. I drink.'
This album is sure to win Blake even more fans, as well as more hits. I hope to see "Goodbye Time," "Nobody But Me," and "I Drink" released as singles. Traditional and contemporary fans alike will enjoy the tunes here.
