The Limited Edition of Gretchen Wilson’s “Here For The Party” is a nice addition to a fan’s collection. In addition to the complete album, this edition includes a DVD that features Gretchen’s first two videos and a documentary about her. There’s also a “redneck proud” sticker and a nice book-like cover with complete liner notes and lyrics.

Guide Review - Gretchen Wilson - Here for the Party (Limited Edition)

Nobody expected Gretchen Wilson to have the success that she’s attained; at least not this quickly. The first single “Redneck Woman” literally screamed up the charts and left Gretchen with the enviable position of having a smash hit debut single and an album that has sold 3 million plus copies in only five months. The second single, “Here For The Party” was more or less “Redneck Woman, Part II” but it too was a big hit reaching #3 on the charts. The current single is “When I Think About Cheatin’.” It’s the type of song that classic ladies of country like Patsy Cline or maybe Tammy Wynette would have sung. The other standout tracks on a solidly, consistent album are “Homewrecker,” “When It Rains” and the likely future hit single “Holdin’ You.”[phttp://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Z%5d4As for the DVD collection, it’s very well put together and features an easily maneuverable menu. The two videos are nice as is the photo gallery. The documentary called “Gretchen Wilson: Up Close And Personal” is nice, so nice that CMT played a longer version of the documentary.[phttp://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Z%5d5The album is exactly the same as the original release CD, so the quality of music is still the same. The 10 songs are great and the CD is in my Top 10 for the year 2004. To top off all of Gretchen’s success this year, she was crowned the winner of the CMA’s Horizon award on her daughter’s birthday: November 9, 2004.
