Guide Review - Jo Dee Messina - 'Delicious Surprise'
Delicious Surprise, features 5 songs either written or co-written by Jo Dee. Her first song released to radio in nearly two years is "My Give A Damn's Busted" and is also her fastest rising single ever. I can't get enough of it on radio. That along with "Who's Crying Now' and 'Where Were You' are songs that deal with broken relationships. The statement "grab on to today" is in "Life Is Good," a song that tells us to appreciate all the simple things in life. In the song "Someone Else's Life" it's about wishing to be in someone else's shoes. And who hasn't had the fantasy about that once or twice in their lifetime, I know I have. One of the songs written by Jo Dee is a song that tells us that no matter what happens to you in life even if it's so hard to believe that "It Gets Better." It really hit me hard since recently I lost a close friend of mine. The song "Where Were You" was written by Jo Dee when she was at rock bottom and she says you may feel the anger in the song, because it's about friends not being there when you need them.
Jo Dee heard "You Were Just Here" just a few months after 9-11. It has a strong message and is heartfelt by her every time she sings it.
Thanks for making an album that makes you think about your life and making it better each and every day.
