Guide Review - Joe Nichols - 'III'
Joe Nichols is one of the newcomers who is a major player in bringing country music back to its traditional roots. And he continually charts the hits with his traditional sound and very easy to listen to voice. He always makes solid choices for his album material, and III is no exception. The first single release was a fun and upbeat song, "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off." It quickly became a fan favorite on the radio with lyrics like "her closet's missing half the clothes she bought." It is a fun song to leave the office to on a Friday afternoon. Then in a total mood turnaround, the song "I'll Wait For You" will make you run for the Kleenex. There are so many great songs on the CD that it is hard to choose favorites. I really loved them all. "As Country As She Gets" is classic city girl meets country boy. "Honky Tonk Girl" is another upbeat and fun tune that gets your toes to tapping. "Should I Go Home (Or Should I Go Crazy)" is about as traditional sounding as you can get with today's technology in the studio. Steve Earle is the writer on "My Old Friend The Blues."
This CD is a winner all the way around. Fans of every age group appreciate the talent Joe has and the music he shares with us. His sense of humor makes him one of the most popular live acts to go see. I don't think anyone who calls themselves a country fan would be disappointed with this CD.
