Randy Rogers Band debuted with a bang. The album produced a wide array of hits in the Texas Country / Red Dirt country music scene and it's no wonder because Radney Foster was the producer. Eleven tracks full of a wonderful musical sound and the songs are great.

Guide Review - Randy Rogers Band - Rollercoaster

It's always strange listening to an album and then going backward to listen to earlier material. Most of the songs on this album were on the Randy Rogers Band live album but it's still good to have access to the original versions. There's something a little extra without even the slightest bit of an audience cheering along after or before performances.

There's nothing worse than feeling "Down & Out," and the first song sure lets listeners know why. "I've hit rock bottom with some good friends of mine. Yeah we sat and watched the sun rise but we never saw it shine," Randy sings. "This Time Around" he's not going to believe the lies a woman will tell him. She could have had it all but instead she chose for him to walk out the door and drive away. Now I see that the Randy Rogers band did release "Again," on an album instead of springing it on people on the live album. I like this version.

"Can't Slow Down" is one of my favorite songs from the band. "Can't tell the sky from the ground. It's wrong, it's right. It's gonna be another long night. To see the lights of the next town and I can't slow down." It was good when he finally made it home because he let the whiskey burn a hole right through him to make her memory fade away. "Ten Miles Deep" is how far under the ground the man wants to be when he dies. The album closes with a live version of "I Miss You With Me."
