Guide Review - Sawyer Brown - Mission Temple Fireworks Stand
The latest Sawyer Brown release on Curb Records is a strong album for them. They spent the time gathering just the right material and waited until they felt it was just right before sending it to press. The care that they took choosing their songs comes through. Onstage, they send their energy waves into the audience, who feeds on it and sends it back to the stage. The longer they perform onstage the more energetic they become. The guys wanted to bottle some of that energy for this album and they succeeded. They also have a serious side and they choose songs with a deep meaning and pour their feelings into them. The lead single, "They Don't Understand," is a song that reminds you that there are other people out there and to have compassion for them and their actions. There are reasons behind actions and take the time to understand the reason before yelling. It is a powerful song. There are three or four such songs - gentle reminders that the planet doesn't revolve around a single person and we all are needed to make our world and it is exactly what we make it.They have fun with the title track and a few other songs like "Tarzan and Jane" and "Ole Kentuck," giving us a glimpse of their incredible onstage energy. This is a well-balanced album with a little of everything. It showcases their wide range of talents and continues to set them firmly in the category of groups with staying power. It would be a loved part of any music collection.
