Guide Review - Shania Twain - Greatest Hits
In a notoriously fickle business, most artists get one shot at stardom and if that album doesnt stick then the career is typically over before it even got started. Fortunately for Shania she didnt get dropped by Mercury Records after her first CD failed to ignite audiences. Instead of staying the course and make a typical Nashville record, the label showed extreme good will by giving Shania and her new husband, noted producer Mutt Lange, full control over the recording of the album. With that control came a dynamic pop meets country sound with multi-layered vocals fiddles and good natured lyrics. That sound has morphed Shania from young Canadian import to international starlet in a short time. All of her notable hits are on Greatest Hits with the best of them being Forever and For Always, Youre Still The One, You Win My Love, Any Man Of Mine, Dont Be Stupid (You Know I Love You), Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? and No One Needs To Know. Also included on this CD, as is the case with almost all CDs, are two new songs: Party For Two and I Aint No Quitter. Billy Currington and Mark McGrath duet with Shania on different versions of Party.
If you have always liked her radio hits but never saw the need to buy one of Shanias CDs, now would be the time to get one. It has all her essential songs along with a couple of fun new tracks to tide longtime fans over until Shania releases her next album.
