Carrie Underwood - Some Hearts

The Bottom Line

American Idol Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood's debut album is just as expected, a country feel with some pop added to it. My belief is to appeal to those who watched her on American Idol and to those of us, who just plainly loved her for her country soul. Lots of variety in her vocals, which tells me she has true talent. America picked the perfect one to be this years American Idol, in my opinion. Great Job!!

Guide Review - Carrie Underwood - Some Hearts

Carrie has an interest in writing but she didn't feel that her writing skills were up for her debut album. She did help a little with "I Ain’t In Checotah Anymore." A song for her friends and family in her hometown of Checotah, OK. It tells of things that have been happening to her in the past months. Carrie & her Mom cried just reading the lyrics to "Don't Forget To Remember Me," & they have named it their song, because it made Carrie feel homesick while she was away recording.

The opening track "Wasted" is a awesome song and really sets the mood on this album. There are a few songs a little more pop, like the title track "Some Hearts," but it still has a great beat and shows off the talent Carrie has in her soul. Her first single "Jesus Take The Wheel" is my ultimate favorite on the album. It touched my heart. Ehen I first heard it on radio, I had tears in my eyes. Maybe because I've felt that way in my life a few times.

"Lessons Learned" shows her amazing voice and the ability she has to carry a perfect tune. I love the words in it that say: "I'm thankful for every break in my heart." Now that pretty much sums up the title of that song, doesn't it? Another favorite is "Before He Cheats." Man this girl can really hit various notes and I love the growl in her voice in this one, a definite hit, I'd say. Carrie, just so that you know, I picked you from the start of the show. I knew you had in you. You have amazing talent, stick to your roots and you'll go far.
