Guide Review - Sean Patrick McGraw - Songs for Saturday Night
Sean Patrick McGraw's 'Songs For Saturday Night' is the kind of album you'd want to listen to before going out with your buddies on a Friday or Saturday night. They'll get you pumped up and ready to have some fun. There aren't any slow songs, but that's fine with me - sometimes you just want upbeat material. It doesn't matter what kind of music you sing when you are up on stage, because when you're really giving a great performance and the crowd is into it, you feel like a "Rockstar." "Some nights nobody listens and if I could I'd quit, but you know that I live for nights like this." "Honey Do" is the only song not written or co-written by Sean, but it fits in with the rest of the material. Lord help the man who is "A Lil' In Love," because he's bound to be buying a ring in no time. A "Beer Drinkin' Girl" is what Sean is looking for in the next song. He doesn't care what hair color she has, as long as she can hold her own.
Other days of the week might be fun but there ain't "Nuthin' Like Saturday Night." That's the night where everyone can leave their worries at the door and cut loose for a little while. "Fiona" broke his heart but he still longs to be with her again. "Fiona, after all this time it's true. I still want to lay you down and make sweet love to you." The next song has a heavy Deryl Dodd sound to it. "Two Sides To Every Song" is about how one person can hear a certain song and feel good and another person can hear the same thing and feel bad.
