Guide Review - Sugarland - Twice the Speed of Life
“Something More” leads off the record and finds Kristian trading mandolin licks with Nashville guitarist Tom Bukovac before Jennifer’s distinctive voice takes over. The song is about searching for something better in life. First single “Baby Girl” is a song about a girl who struggles to make it and receives help from her parents only to “pay it forward” by giving them anything they want after she makes it. “Tennessee” is a sing-a-long type song that is written around a request line at a radio station while “Fly Away” features great mandolin, fiddle and steel guitar parts backing up confident vocals from Jennifer. The title track, “Speed Of Life” is a wonderful tempo filled song about how true love makes you feel like you’re going “twice the speed of life.”
“Twice The Speed Of Life” is the work of a band that has remarkable chemistry. Each song showcases a strong band that should be making hits for years to come.
