Guide Review - Tim McGraw - 'Live Like You Were Dying'
"Live Like You Were Dying" is one of Tim's fastest rising singles ever. He's breaking his own records with this one. Now, McGraw has set the record for the most cumulative weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles. This is his 23rd #1 single. I believe this album is going to be one of his greatest projects. He has really done a great job on this one. I believe, like Tim says, people are going to be able to relate to the songs on this album. It has a personal feel to it.I recently got the chance to see Tim live and he was incredible. He performed a few of the new songs from this album, but my favorites were "Can't Tell Me Nothin'," and "How Bad Do You Want It." I had seen Tim another time way back, when he and Faith were touring together. He's always been one of my favorites, I just really like the style of music he picks and the way he performs them.
A great song on this album talks about missing the simple ways and the way it was "Back When." Tim also sang "My Old Friend" at the concert I was at, which was a highlight, with them showing a video presentation of pictures that his friend Danny Knight, an Army Chaplain sent him from Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to seeing Tim make his acting debut in "Black Cloud" as Sheriff Powers in September, and his major motion picture acting debut in October in the film "Friday Night Lights" with Billy Bob Thornton. You don't want to miss adding this album to your collection. It's a Keeper!
